The Kitsumkalum Education Department is committed to helping Kitsumkalum members achieve their educational goals and aspirations through the delivery of quality educational programs and services

Programs & Services offered

This program provides funds to support Kitsumkalum registered academic-stream College and University students.  Applications are available from Kitsumkalum Education Department or can be downloaded here.

Applications to start Post Secondary in September must be submitted by MARCH 30th  of same year or earlier.  This allows us to prepare to apply for additional funding from ISC, if required. Successful applicants will have their sponsorship confirmed in July-August.

INAC funding is limited to 14 students so please submit your application early between January 1st  – March 30th .

If you are thinking about long-term or short-term post-secondary school or training, please contact the Kitsumkalum Education Department as soon as possible, to begin planning. Your application is not a presumptive guaranteed approval. This is a step-by-step process and can take time.

Student Eligibility:

  • Must be a REGISTERED Kitsumkalum member, with a STATUS CARD.
  • Must complete Kitsumkalum’s Post-Secondary application in full by March 30th. Applications after this date will be received and considered if funding is still available
  • Must possess Canadian citizenship
  • Applicant must be accepted into an eligible program at an eligible institution
  • Must include transcripts of high school and/or prior academic program standing
  • Applicants who require additional supports should get in touch with the educational settings Support Services for advising

BC Ministry of Education link for eligible schools.

Eligible programs must meet the following criteria:
