FSC CATCH MONITORING 2025

The Kitsumkalum FSC Catch Monitor program has started for the 2025 salmon harvest season.

The FSC Catch Monitors will be conducting interviews for Section 35, Food, Social & Ceremonial (FSC) effort and harvest of salmon, along the Lower Skeena River from mid- May to mid- September.

The monitors will be interviewing FSC fishers at the boat launches, on reserve, electronically, and conducting live interviews when possible.

Please cooperate and provide your successful and non- successful catch report upon request.

Harvest and effort data is used toward Kitsumkalum future planning and management of natural resources.

These records also help keep valuable information of fish harvest sites with- in Kitsumkalum Tradition Territory.

The Catch Monitor program has been in successful operation since 2001.

All FSC fishers participating in complete interviews, will be entered into a monthly draw for a river gillnet webbing. Draws will take place at the end of each month, for the duration of the FSC Catch Monitor program.

Thank you for your cooperation,
