Arctic Outflow Warning in effect for:
- North Coast – inland including Terrace
Very strong outflow winds and severely cold wind chill are expected or occurring, today and tomorrow.
Outflow winds are extremely high through mainland inlets, northeasterly winds are gusting up to 90 to 120 km/h.
- Frostbite and hypothermia will happen within minutes if precautions are not taken
- Any skin exposed is likely to result in frostbite
- High winds may result in power outages and fallen tree branches
- Wear hats, scarves and mittens or gloves
- Ensure that shelter is provided for pets and outdoor animals
- Store or anchor objects so they are not tossed by the wind causing injury or damage
