Overview
Join the first-ever Community Planting Festival hosted by Tea Creek Farm.
Why?
- Join the community in the soil— this hands-on day is your chance to learn foundational techniques, skills, and knowledge for running a farm. From planting strategies to crop planning, gain real-world experience in what it takes to grow food on a meaningful scale.
- Whether you’re curious about how food is grown or seriously exploring farming as a path, this is your opportunity to dig in—literally and figuratively.
- Participate in food sovereignty at the root level—literally. Help plant thousands of seedlings and potatoes while gaining practical insights into community-based farming.
- Learn more about community growing, farming and food— get a good sense of what it takes to grow 30,000 lbs of food each year.
- Enjoy a special lunch prepared by Chef Dai of Fukasaku, featuring locally grown potatoes and seasonal delicacies from the land.
- Extra seeds, baby plants, and extra seed potatoes will be given away at the end of the day.
