Ama sah, Kitsumkalum,
We are currently working with Frontera Forest Solutions Inc. to develop a Community
Wildfire Resiliency Plan (CWRP) for Kitsumkalum.
CWRPs are designed to help communities reduce wildfire risk and improve preparedness.
These plans assess local wildfire hazards, identify critical values at risk, and outline
practical actions to mitigate potential threats. By bringing together community members,
government agencies, and other stakeholders, this work plays an important role in
protecting lives, property, and natural resources.
Frontera will be on-site in Kitsumkalum from May 12 to May 14 to conduct field work and
complete assessments throughout the community.
We would like to share this information with the community ahead of time, so residents are
aware of the work taking place. This may include site visits, general observations, and data
collection in and around the area.
