The New Relationship Trust Foundation (NRT Foundation) is pleased to announce the launch of a new $1 million Indigenous Early Years Scholarship and Bursary program. This initiative is made possible with the support of the Provincial Office for the Early Years. The Indigenous Early Years Scholarship and Bursary Program will add to the NRT Foundation’s 1,719 students funded to date, by ensuring that more than 200 additional Indigenous students living in BC will be able to access post-secondary funding. The NRT Foundation is offering to offer scholarships to Indigenous students who currently reside in British Columbia and are enrolled in Early Years related programs.

Eligibility

Indigenous: First Nations, Metis and Inuit people of Canada.

Those who identify as Indigenous persons and are residents of British Columbia are eligible for the Indigenous Early Years Scholarship Program in areas of study that align with early years’ professions including early childhood education, early intervention therapies and supports, and other para-professions.

Early Years fields of study include but are not limited to:

  • Early Childhood Education;
  • Social Work;
  • Child, Family and Community;
  • Child and Youth Care;
  • Human and Social Development;
  • Speech and Language Pathology;
  • Speech and Language Assistants;
  • Occupational Therapy;
  • Physical Therapy;
  • Behavioral Analysts;
  • Applied Behavioral Sciences; and
  • Educational Psychology.
