“My name is Ilene Wells (nee Mckay) I am writing today in hopes to get some support or sponsors for my dear friend Sasheen Wesley. She is a mother of 8 Tsimshian woman from Kitselas Indian Reserve in Gitaus BC who has been chosen to be apart of Team Indigenous Roller derby going to play in Manchester England. She will be representing the Tsimshian flag for both Kitselas and KitsumKalum with Pride in where she comes from!

She has recently completed Northwest Aboriginal Canadian Entrepreneurs course and has run her own home-based business’ for lil over 5 years now ranging from Pizza sales to Sash’s clothing line. She is making every effort to try and fundraise enough for her travel accommodations and food. She is to leave for Manchester January 26th  their first practice is January 30th competition starts February 1-4th,2018. She is more determined than ever to make this opportunity a reality and would be more than grateful for any support offered to her.

To her, this proves that you can do anything you set your mind too and your happiness and drive can be reached by doing what you love. For her to travel there will be costing her around $4000 with plane tickets, food, and accommodations. Was also her wish to have a few of her Cultural dance group to accompany to Dance and drum her in which would be additional.   She has already been interviewed by CBC and APTN so she is quite excited and hopeful this can be a reality.”
