Community Health/Home Care Nurse (CHN/HCN)
Kitsumkalum Health Centre is looking for a highly motivated Registered Nurse to join our health team.
Position Title: Community Health/ Home Care Nurse (CHN/HCN)
Reporting To: Health Director

Term: Full Time 35 hours a week
Wage: $45.00 – $50.00
Responsibilities include:
- Coordinates the Community Care and Home Care programs to meet the needs of the clients though, promoting family and community support while encouraging client’s independence.
- Complete structured client assessments and develop client centered care plans, documents and maintains client files provides in-home direct nursing care as required
- Completes and submits service delivery reporting to Kitsumkalum Health Director, First Nation Health Authority (FNHA) and Provincial Health and adheres to infection control guidelines
- Maintains client confidentiality and ensures all records are stored securely
- Partnership and collaborate with community resources and other allied healthcare
- professionals and utilize your independent critical thinking skills.
- Work effectively within the framework of the population health/health promotion model
- Promote mental health and wellness, increase the provision of quality health care in a rural setting
Qualifications;
- Bachelor of nursing degree from a Canadian University, membership and in good
- standing of the College of Registered Nurses of BC (CRNBC)
- Must have B.C. Immunization Certification
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Updated criminal record check
- Must hold a valid B.C. driver’s license, reliable vehicle with business insurance
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work
- effectively with a variety of people and circumstances
- Ability to teach and facilitate learning
- Self-directed with demonstrated organizational skills
- Knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions
The nursing program will be providing nursing services with as hands on approach to Kitsumkalum community members.
