Kalum Logistics Park and Martushev Group is seeking a Butt N Top and Wheel Loader Operator for our transloading operations. The successful candidate will be employed by the Martushev Group.
Summery:
Reporting to the Designated Site Manager or designate, the Operator will provide support and assistance to Kalum Logistics Park transloading and sort yard operations. This role will foster a health and safety culture of ‘No Harm’ while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental provincial and federal regulations, legislations, and policies.
To be successful we are looking for someone with strong attention to detail and quality of work, is responsible, accountable, dependable, and has a strong safety ethic. Someone who can follow instructions, problem solve, and think critically. You have strong interpersonal and communication skills and work well independently and in a team environment.
Key Job Functions:
- Safe and efficient operation of equipment.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and completes daily logbook.
- Maintain equipment in good operating condition and report any issues that require attention.
- Communicate professionally with other team members in person and on the radio.
- Upholds and follows safety policies, procedures, regulations, hazard identification and promotes safety awareness through day-to-day attitudes and actions.
- Adjusts and establishes daily tasks to meet changing orders of priorities.
- Utilizes safeguards, safety appliances and personal protective equipment or devices.
- Navigate construction job site terrain.
- Operate equipment near and around other workers and equipment.
- Load, store, sort, and handle logs in an organized manner.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Working Conditions: - Ability to perform physical tasks including sitting for long periods of time; and the ability to get out of the equipment to assist on the ground when required.
- Ability to work in conditions exposed to the elements (snow, rain, sub-freezing weather, heat, and wind).

Required Education/Professional Qualifications: - Certificate from an industry-identified training facility for Butt N Top and Wheel Loader required.
- Experience operating a Butt N Top in sort yard or forestry operations preferred.
- Knowledge and experience working around heavy equipment are considered an asset.
- Valid Driver’s License.
An equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.
