Dear Kitsumkalum Residents,
The Emergency Management Department continues to monitor and respond accordingly to the flooding concerns within and around Kitsumkalum. A big thank you to Richard Inkster and his team with Public Works for mitigating water as needed with large water pumps. Diane Collins, Kalum Quarry Manager, has facilitated with her team in building a large berm along the Kalum River to ensure water protection of Kitsumkalum.
I can assure you that the Emergency Management Department will continue to assess and monitor the situation as needed until we are out of potential flood risk. We will continue to train and work together with safety and protection of Kitsumkalum our highest priority.
