Position: Trades Trainee (Union – IBEW 258)
Location: Terrace, BC
Requirements:
• Valid Class 3 Driver’s Licence at a minimum (Class 1 preferred)
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, trenches, and excavations
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding work through the shift in all weather conditions
• Mechanical aptitude — construction experience, mechanics, or exposure to trades an asset
Wage: $36.54 per hour
Hours: Full-time
Probationary Period: 3 months
Benefits First days of hire:
• Coverage – Drug plan: 100%
• Dental – Basic services: 100%; Major restorative: 80% (combined annual max $2,500 per year); Orthodontic: 50% ($3,000 lifetime)
• 100% (most paramedical) maximum of $1,500 per year
• Annual vacation entitlements: Vacation is 3 weeks (6%) to start accrued. 5 years goes to 4 weeks (8%) 12 years is 5 weeks at 10%
• RSP matching after probationary period (3-months)
• Other: After 3-month probationary period, employees receive 5 days (40 hours) per fiscal year personal days. These days are not paid out or carried over to the next year; are from Jan 01 – December 31, retro from start date.
