POSITIONS: Lab Technician/Field Technician
DEPARTMENT: Kitsumkalum Fish and Wildlife
WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00a.m. – 4:30p.m. Mon-Fri (hours may vary; during season; some evenings,
and weekends and holidays)
STATUS: Full-time
General Responsibilities:
• Analyze data collected using microscopes.
• Report writing, create charts.
• Record keeping.
• Observe, monitor, support field crews with study data collection.
• Work in several disciplines: Inland Aquatics, Tidal Aquatics, Wetlands, Vegetation and Wildlife
• Observation of any field study or alteration within a natural environment
• Ensure that any discoveries are managed in a culturally appropriate way.
• Work alongside professional Archaeologists/Biologists and qualified technical professionals.
• Travel if necessary, including weekends.
Qualifications:
• Computer experience in Excel/Word
• Physically fit, ability to walk on uneven terrain, stand/walk for long periods.
Assets:
• Wildlife Monitor Certificate
• SVOP
• Driver’s License
• OFA level 1, 2 or 3
• Previous field experience
Salary: Discussed upon hiring
