Out-of-Care Support Worker

Summary
KFS wishes to hire a full time Out-of-Care Support Worker. This is a new initiative where the worker will be working primarily with caregivers of children who are not in care but placed with extended family members and others that have been screened by MCFD in accordance with “Agreements with Child’s Kin and Others. (Section 8 of the Child, Family and Community Service Act) and through other non-traditional-out-of-care placements.
Job Duties
The worker will provide concrete support in obtaining needed services, as well as day-to-day management of behavioral, emotional and developmental management challenges of the children in the care of the service provider. Referrals to this program will only be accepted by MCFD. This is a Kermode staff position but for the most part will be housed in the Terrace MCFD offices.
Requirements
Qualifications will be a diploma in social work, child and youth care or a related human field with a minimum of two years related experience.
